Whether rocking the dance floor at a New England contra dance hall, or painting a musical picture for a rapt concert audience, Atlantic Crossing have been mainstays of the Vermont folk music scene for nearly two decades. They play the traditional music of New England, rooted deeply in the Celtic British Isles and in French and Maritime Canada, along with original material that interweaves seamlessly with the music of past generations. Their arrangements reveal a profound love of traditional music, together with a high level of creativity and emotional expression, all washed down with a healthy dose of fun.
After about 15 years and 5 CDs in the original line-up, founding band member Brian Perkins was replaced in 2011 by Tristan Henderson. This concert celebrates the release of our first album featuring Tristan, whose youthful energy and abundant creativity have taken us in some new directions.
